Badminton Alberta is the governing body for organized badminton within the province of Alberta. Its mission is to engage in activities, projects and programs which promote the sport of badminton and generate growth of the game. At its core, the Company’s significant areas of operation include offering educational & instructional programming and certifications, hosting & participating in competitions and events, and acting as an information resource to the badminton community. These activities revolve around continuous efforts to enhance the relationships that exist between the Association and the general badminton community. Badminton Alberta is on the hunt for a Financial Coordinator to support the Association for 16 weeks over the course of the upcoming 2020 Fall Season to help nurture its ties to stakeholders. WHO YOU ARE: You have knowledge and experience in analysis, management, timeline execution, and task prioritization. You can understand the challenges needed to ensure a successful project delivery. You can clearly communicate your expectations and outcomes with colleagues. You can learn. You are not afraid to ask questions. You enjoy working within a team, but you can also excel remotely as an individual. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to accuracy and detail is a must - Experience in basic financial analysis and financial reporting is a must - Previous experience in the sport industry or specifically the badminton industry is an asset - Previous experience or education in accounting, finance, general business, communications, marketing, PR, event planning, sales is an asset - Strong organizational skills and time-line oriented is an asset HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: - Curating and analyzing the historical financial reporting of Badminton Alberta’s previous Canada Open projects - Enhancing the current financial models for future Canada Open projects - Performing research in the relevant industries to determine areas of cost-saving for the future - Analyzing and reporting on performance to management - Measuring the financial impact of previous Canada Open projects on the Association and the community WHAT WE OFFER: A competitive compensation package that includes flexible working hours.
